Hi! My name is Allen Sunny. I am a researcher at the University of Maryland’s Tech Policy Hub. I work under Professor Ido Sivan-Sevilla

My work focuses on the safe deployment of AI systems in public-facing contexts. I explore three interconnected research areas: AI policy, human-AI interaction, and AI interpretability. Currently, I’m exploring how Neuro-Symbolic methods can be used to verify and audit AI system behavior in regulated domains.

I hold a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Engineering from India, after which I worked for 4.5 years as a data scientist with Kantar Analytics for Walmart. I hold a Master’s in Information Science from the University of Maryland, College Park.
